How We Met
Nigerian Harvard MBA + Jamaican Medical Doctor Student Engagement
Hey there, it's Paul 🇳🇬 here, and I'm excited to share our love story, especially the magical moment when I asked Kirsten 🇯🇲 to be my forever.
Kirsten and I first crossed paths during our undergrad days. It wasn't until the year-end gala for the Black Students Association that fate seated us at the same table. That night, we hit it off, and even though nothing significant happened immediately, it set the stage for what would come. We became social media friends, liking, commenting, and occasionally exchanging messages.
It remained a platonic connection until, after graduation, I felt ready for something more. I reached out and asked Kirsten out on a date. Our first date was the spark that ignited a flame. In the whirlwind of two weeks, we found ourselves going on four more dates and falling deeply in love. That was four wonderful years ago, and this summer, in the enchanting setting of Santorini, we took the next step in our journey.

How They Asked
We had a big summer trip planned around Europe together. We spent two weeks in Italy, then two weeks in France, and finally one week in Greece which we ended with 3 days in Santorini. We had always talked about doing a nice couples photoshoot but never got the chance to do it. So Paul hatched up a plan. He suggested that we do a sunset photoshoot in Santorini since it would be really beautiful and we could pack nice clothes and that he would organize the whole thing, his treat.
I had no idea it was all a ruse, so i didnt suspect anything when he took me to do my hair, nails, etc. The proposal was perfect in a secluded area in Santorini right at sunset. He worked everything with the photographer which made for a delightful surprise. After, we had a romantic candle lit dinner at a cliffside restaurant and when we came back to the hotel, the entire room was decorated with roses and candles.
When we came back home to Toronto, we celebrated with our families at an engagement dinner in a private room at an upscale restaurant. It was the perfect way to cap off our engagement journey. Our love story, intertwined with our Nigerian and Jamaican heritage, is a testament to the beauty that unfolds when two souls, each with its own rich cultural tapestry, come together to create a vibrant and harmonious love.

About the Wedding
As of now, Paul and Kirsten are savoring the joy of their recent engagement and relishing in the love that brought them together. While they are excitedly embarking on this new chapter, no wedding date has been set yet.
