About Us

Founded in 2011, Guys on the Radio is the culmination of a lifelong friendship between JC 'Phillips' Heerdt and Jon 'Shap' Shapiro. The journey began back in 1996 when they met at North Central College in Naperville. Despite their distinct personalities, their shared passion for music led them to work together at the college radio station (WONC), where their bond deepened.

After graduation, they both pursued careers in small-town radio, with JC and Shap eventually finding themselves in LaSalle-Peru. To complement their incomes, they embarked on DJ gigs, including bar events, marking the start of their journey in event entertainment.
