Our Officiant Services Offered:

Our licensed officiants, Ruth and Alex, provide their services in the greater Washington, D.C. Metro area, including Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Their ceremonies typically last between 30 and 60 minutes and can be fully customized to suit your preferences. We accommodate various religious beliefs, including agnostic, earth-based, Jewish, pagan, and Unitarian, and we are also well-equipped to officiate non-religious ceremonies.

Both Ruth and Alex are actively involved with Bet Mishpachah, D.C.'s LGBTQ synagogue, and they are experienced in creating memorable LGBTQ wedding ceremonies. Additionally, they understand the significance of interfaith weddings and possess the expertise to craft seamless and harmonious celebrations that honor the couple's diverse backgrounds.

With over 25 years of experience in the Washington, D.C. area, Alex Carter has a deep understanding of the region and its people. As a certified life-cycle celebrant and a lay service leader at Bet Mishpachah, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge to every ceremony. Ruth Potts, ordained in the Universal Life Church and also a service leader at Bet Mishpachah, shares the same passion for love and celebration. Together, they wholeheartedly accommodate any special dedications, memorials, or rituals you wish to incorporate into your wedding ceremony.
