Reem Acra's journey began at the American University of Beirut, where her talent was serendipitously discovered at a party. Wearing an exquisitely embroidered silk organza gown of her own design, Acra caught the eye of a fashion editor, leading to an impromptu fashion show organized just ten days later. The event was an instant success, and it marked the turning point in Acra's life.

Following this fateful encounter, Acra realized her true calling and pursued her passion by enrolling at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and École Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode (ESMOD) in Paris.

In 1997, Reem Acra's bridal design made its debut when a high-profile socialite chose one of her creations for her wedding. The immediate buzz and demand for her bridal designs led to the launch of her eponymous line, Reem Acra New York, that same year. Acra's meticulous attention to detail, innovative couture designs, and intricate craftsmanship soon established her as a leading figure in the bridal market.

Building upon her bridal success, Reem Acra expanded into Ready-to-Wear fashion in 2001. This collection mirrors the same commitment to quality and features impeccably crafted pieces adorned with ornate beading, flawless embroidery, and intricate texture details.
